What is an assessment?
An assessment is a behaviour-oriented evaluation applied both in the group and individually. The objective is to provide
clear advice on the competencies present and future performance. The assessment assists clients in making the right decision
in the case of organizational change, promotion or recruitment. It enables a client to know exactly how the new or promoted
executive will contribute in future to the success of the organisation.
What is measured?
The focus lies on observation of actual behaviour in critical situations. Not only ‘knowing’ but ‘doing’ is particularly
important. This is why we create situations that closely matches the daily reality of the future position. These
simulations may be constructed at operational, tactical or strategic level.
How do we work?
The basis of an assessment is a unique competence profile. We map out the competencies crucial to the successful
fulfillment of the position in an organisation.
The assessment programme is optimally tuned to this success profile and consists of management, role play, post
tray exercises and presentation assignments. A competence-oriented interview is an integral part of this and we look
carefully at the candidate’s experience, motivation and ambitions. The assessment tools used by Glasford International
have already proved their added value for various types of organisations and for various positions.
The assessment is carried out by various assessors, both Glasford International consultants and a possible mix of our
assessors and HR professionals from a client’s organisation or those immediately involved.
What is the result?
Our report indicates the candidate’s level for each competence in the success profile. This enables a client to know to
what extent he or she meets the required profile. Clients are given a distinct overall picture, a strength-weakness
analysis and clear final advice. This not only supports the recruitment or promotion decision, but it also delivers
valuable information for creating or adjusting specific plans concerning development, career coaching and succession
planning.
