TMT (Technics in Management Transfer) was established in 1978 by Thomas J. Nevins who pioneered labor consulting for multinational companies in Japan.
TMT specializes in advising firms on the Rules of Employment, salary systems and the most effective methods of retrenchment or downsizing without legal action becoming necessary.
TMT also helps our clients find difficult-to-fill senior positions.
Tom Nevins authored several business books that include the Japan Times (oldest and leading English language newspaper/publisher in Japan) books "Labor Pains and the Gaijin Boss" (1984) and "Taking Charge in Japan" (1990). In 2004 we published two provocative books: "Japan True or False" and "Know Your Own Bone." Available only at TMT, Nevins' books are presently not sold in bookstores. They can be purchased on our website.

SERVICES:
Executive Search
In 1982 TMT expanded the initial human resource consulting business into Executive Search. Since then TMT has had an average of 15 to 20 Search Consultants, primarily involved in retained search. Over 2500 placements have been made serving over 500 primarily foreign-capital clients. Much of this is repeat business. As many as 50 placements were made at one firm. TMT does not advertise for candidates. We pride ourselves on knowing the universe of key players and working with our clients to attract them, and successfully integrate them.
